Haircut

Sometimes, regardless of where you are on the face of the earth, you have to stop and take care of your own hygiene.

In my (LJ’s) case, it was the need for a haircut.  There just wasn’t time to get one before leaving, and it was about 3 weeks overdue.

We noticed “Gary’s Style Salon” over the 7-Eleven at the end of the block from the hotel, and it happened to be open as we were leaving this morning.

A decision was made and we ventured up the stairs into the “Salon”.

This wasn’t “state of the art” equipment, although the place was fairly clean and was certainly busy enough.  I swear, though, they had one of those floor stand models of the thing that curls your hair out of the 1930’s.

Fortunately, I knew from my venture to Superclips when faced with no alternative than to get a haircut TODAY before that a Number 2 guard was most appropriate.  The lady dug around, gave me an English Language sports newspaper (an appreciated, if unnecessary, effort) and got to work.

20 minutes and $120HK later and I was appropriately shorn.

That was the first time that EB saw me get a haircut in years, if not ever.  The comment coming down the stairs, “I think I can do that.”

Help me!
