Packing -- 2 Carry-Ons, 2 Backpacks, & 1 CPAP bag (LJ's)

Hannibal moved armies across the Alps to invade Rome from Carthage using elephants and thousands of troops. The journey took years to accomplish. Our goals are less lofty. 2 weeks, 2 countries, 4 cities and we’re going by airplane.

Nonetheless, it’s easy to think that we “. . . can’t live without X”. Well – you can. We have pared our essentials down to the point that we can do 2 weeks out of a carry on bag and a backpack.

There’s certainly no extras, and we’re counting on laundry facilities being available, but we have everything we need, including appropriate electronics so that there won’t be any communication glitches.

We’ve done this before – the first big trip we took was to Italy for about 10 days – and the rule was that everyone in our group of 12 had to tote their own luggage. That was in February, too, but the weather is slightly different between the two.

Oh, and EB’s wool pea coat couldn’t make this trip either, because someone stole it out of the back seat of his car last week (along with his prescription sunglasses!) The coat may do them some good, but I can’t imagine that Rx bifocal sunglasses are that transferrable.

The pups were intrigued with the whole packing process.  Both of them sat there all smug-like....thinking..."those morons won't ever be able to get all that stuff in those 2 little bags."  They were wrong though.
