Sunday afternoon

By the time we got back and rode the bus around, it was after 3:00 and our breakfast was wearing out, so we went over by the worlds largest escalator in search of sustenance to the Soho neighborhood.

We got Italian.  It was actually very good.

After that, we climbed in a cab (plastic bag in hand!  If an omelet is bad the 2nd time around, Spaghetti Carbonara was going to be awful) and again rode back to our hotel.

Interestingly enough, about halfway back (going wayyy too fast, even discounting my trepidation from the day  before) I realized that we were in a gypsy cab.  This guy was unlicensed – no placard up with his pic and license number, no “call here to complain” like all the others.  He just happened to have a red and white Toyota that had a light on top that said “Taxi”.

But we lived.
